Little Champs Mix – Big Nutrition for Little Champs 🎉
Khalis Ghiza · Kids Nutrition Series
Your child is going to eat something between lunch and dinner. The honest question is what.
Little Champs Mix is nine real ingredients — cashews, makhana, almonds, pistachios, walnuts, raisins, dried apricots, mulberries and figs — chopped small for little mouths, with no peanuts, no apricot kernels and not a grain of added sugar.
94 calories in a child's 20g portion. 3.3g of sugar, all of it from fruit.
👧 For ages 5 and up. Not suitable for children under 5. Always have your child sit down to eat — never while running, playing or in the car. One adult nearby, every time.
Why Parents Choose It
- Chopped small — Every nut in this pouch is cut into small pieces. Whole nuts are a serious choking hazard for young children; chopping is the single most important thing we do to this blend.
- No peanuts, no apricot kernels — Peanuts are the most common severe childhood allergy, and apricot kernels aren't suitable for children at all. Neither is in here.
- No added sugar, ever — Every one of the 3.3g of sugar in a portion came out of a raisin, an apricot, a mulberry or a fig.
- Makhana, the one kids actually ask for — Light, puffy, slightly sweet, nothing like "health food" to a child. It's 15% of the blend for exactly that reason.
- High in magnesium and fibre — 44% and 8.5g per 100g.
- Source of iron and zinc — Iron supports normal cognitive development in children; zinc supports normal growth.
- Colourful enough to be interesting — Green pistachios, orange apricots, dark figs, white makhana. A child eats with their eyes first.

How Much, and How
| Age | Portion | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Under 5 | Not suitable | Choking risk, even chopped |
| 5–8 years | 20g (about 2 tablespoons) | Sitting down, adult nearby |
| 9+ years | 30g (one small handful) | Sitting down |
Always:
- Child sits down to eat. Never while running, playing, laughing or in a moving car.
- An adult is in the room.
- A glass of water alongside.
A note on school lunchboxes: many schools are now nut-free because of allergic children. Please check your school's policy before packing this. If nuts aren't allowed, it makes an excellent after-school snack instead.
Storage & Shelf Life
Best before: 6 months from the packing date. Packed on: printed on the back of the pouch.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Press the zip lock closed after every use — makhana goes soft and chewy if the pouch is left open. Keep the pouch out of reach of younger children and toddlers. Refrigerate after opening in hot weather.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe for my 5-year-old? The nuts are chopped into small pieces, which greatly reduces the risk compared to whole nuts, and it's formulated for ages 5 and up. But no nut product is risk-free for a young child. Your child should be sitting down, with an adult in the room, every single time. Under 5, please don't.
Can I put it in the school tiffin? Check your school's policy first — many schools are nut-free zones to protect allergic children. If yours allows nuts, it packs well. If not, it's a great after-school snack.
Does it have added sugar? None. The 3.3g in a 20g portion is entirely from raisins, apricots, mulberries and figs.
Why no peanuts? Peanut allergy is the most common severe food allergy in children, and reactions can be serious. We left peanuts out of the kids' blend deliberately.
My child doesn't like dry fruits. Will they eat this? Makhana is usually the way in — it's light and puffy and doesn't taste like "health food." Many parents start by mixing a spoonful into something the child already likes.
How much should they have a day? 20g for ages 5–8, 30g for 9 and up. It's calorie-dense, so one portion a day is plenty.
How long does it keep? Six months from the packing date, sealed and stored cool and dry.
Real food between meals. Chopped small, no peanuts, no added sugar.
